The newly appointed Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency,Brigadier/Gen.BUBA Marwa(RTD) hosted members of Celebrity Drug Free Club to a robust deliberation on the way to tackle the menace of drug abuse in the society.
The Chairman who declared that it is practically impossible for NDLEA to tackle the menace of drug abuse without involving relevant stakeholders like creative industry personalities and influencers.
In his words “Drug abuse is a reality that lives with us now, as much as we are making efforts as a NDLEA to change the narratives through adequate awareness programmes,yet we can’t do it alone, this is why the concern shown by NCDFC is quite noble and must be commended”.
However,the Chairman enjoin NCDFC members to use their influence as role models and opinion influencers among the youth population to help re-direct the minds of the youth to a more noble and profitable path.
“We know that the fight is huge and must be collectively fought using multi-dimensional mass awareness campaigns because the affected persons are our future leaders and as such we all should show concern”
The national coordinator of NDLEA Celebrity Drug Free Club, Wilson Ighodalo who also double as NDLEA Special Purpose Committee member promised the NDLEA Chairman, that NCDFC will change the narratives through adequate awareness programmes, saying the NDLEA Celebrity Drug Free Club will do more tackling the menace headlong through youth engagements, empowerment and coping skills to address youth restiveness and aggressive behaviour.
NCDFC members congratulate the Chairman with a plague for Championing Best Approaches In Drug Control.
In his closing remarks the Chairman promised the members of NCDFC to incorporate all their ideas into his programs,stressing that it takes collective force and effort to tackle the menace of drug abuse that is ravaging our land.
