President Buhari’s aide, Laurette Onochie has been rejected by the Senate after she was nominated by Buhari as a National Commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission ( INEC).
Chairman of the Committee, Kabiru Gaya, in his report, said Onochie did not satisfy the provisions of the Federal Character Principles.
The Senate at the committee of the whole subsequently voted against her nomination.
This is coming after Nigerians in their numbers urged the Senate to reject Laurette Onochie as INEC Commissioner.
