The Katsina State Government on Wednesday handed over fifteen (15) assorted Police vehicles it repaired to the representative of the state police command.
The Deputy Chief of Staff in the Deputy Governor’s Office, Mukhtar Aliyu Saulawa while handing over the repaired vehicles in a brief ceremony held at the premises of the Katsina State Government House Banquet Hall, said the state Governor, Dikko Radda, graciously approved the sum of N50 million for the repair of the vehicles.
He explained that the intervention followed a special appeal made by the State Police Command through the Commissioner of Police, Aliyu Musa, to the Governor to assist in repairing the police vehicles. “We invited mechanics and panel beaters locally and repaired the vehicles in order to encourage our local talents mostly students drawn from the Katsina Youth Craft Village,” he noted.
On his part, the DC Operations of the Katsina State Police Command, Ibrahim Sa’ad, while receiving the repaired vehicles on behalf of the IGP and State Commissioner of Police, thanked the state governor without any reservation for his vision to fix the vehicles and for his commitment to restore peace in the state.
He, therefore, promised and assured that the vehicles are going to be put to actual good use and will certainly be maintained.
