The Rivers State House of Assembly, has said it will not hesitate to impeach governor, Siminalayi Fubara, if it becomes the last resort to uphold the Constitution.
This is as the 27 lawmakers loyal to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, took a swipe at the former Rivers State Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Council led by Dr Abiye Sekibo over its recent attack on Wike.
Speaker of the House, Martin Amaewhule, who stated this at a media briefing in Port Harcourt on Saturday, was flanked by 26 of his colleagues.
The lawmakers accused the governor of refusing to hold up to his end of the Presidential Peace Accord which he wilfully signed without coercion
They explained that they withdrew their impeachment notice against Governor Fubara out of respect for President Bola Tinubu and a hope that the governor would have a change of heart.
